First dig the hole (Remember that the pond will have some sides adding to the depth), so the hole does not need to be very deep.
We created 3 different depth zones. 18" rim as a plant shelf, 20" center section then we transitioned to a 30 to 36" final depth where the fish could chill in the winter.
The deeper section will be (under) inside of the greenhouse
This all took less than a day
