Memorial Day 2014

It is Memorial Day weekend. We added 5 new fish to the family and adopted an additional frog. The pond seems very happy and now the plants to also. We had a small issue with yellowing leaves but after adding just a little chelated iron, things perked right up.

The beans and peas shown above have gotten extremely happy in the last week alone. The cups are put on the sticks as a safety precaution because the tops of the sticks are eye height.

The beans shown above doubled in size overnight.

This sage plant is the one I almost gave up on last winter. I'm glad I didn't.

The cups are perfect for lettuce as that is a continually rotating crop. Good irrigation, not too much root and quick to reseed when needed.
